An independent UK fuel price finder, built and run by Rai Ansar. It shows the prices forecourts report to the government's Fuel Finder service, with the time each price last changed, and it says which stations it does not cover.
Who runs it
Rai Ansar, an independent developer who builds small, fast data sites, built and runs this site. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any fuel retailer, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero or the Fuel Finder service. How it works
- Every 5 minutes, a scheduled job downloads all current prices from Fuel Finder, the statutory service every UK forecourt must report price changes to within 30 minutes. Forecourt details (address, brand, closures, opening times and facilities) are refreshed every hour. Opening times and facilities are shown as each forecourt reports them; on UK bank holidays we do not say whether a station is open, because hours often differ.
- Fuel Finder prices are shown as published. We leave out only forecourts marked as temporarily or permanently closed and prices outside 90p to 300p a litre. Each station shows the time Fuel Finder gives for its last price change.
- Every 30 minutes we also fetch the retailer feeds listed below. A feed station is shown only where Fuel Finder does not list that forecourt (same postcode within 150 metres, or same brand within 60 metres).
- Prices are converted to pence per litre. Fuel types: E10 (standard unleaded), E5 (super unleaded), B7 (diesel) and premium diesel.
- We drop stations outside the UK, prices outside 90p to 300p a litre, and forecourts listed by two feeds (same postcode, within 150 metres; we keep the more recent report).
- For retailer-feed stations only, we hold back any station with a price more than 12% below the UK median for that fuel. In practice these are old prices left in a feed, 30p or more below every other station. We also drop any premium price that is lower than the same station's standard price.
- Each retailer-feed station shows the time its retailer says the prices were last updated; any not updated for 3 days is hidden.
- Postcode and town searches are looked up with postcodes.io. Distances are in straight-line miles, not driving distances.
- Town pages list every station we cover within 5 miles of the town centre (centres from Ordnance Survey's OS Open Names). A town page exists only when we have at least 5 stations there.

Licences and terms
The retailer feeds were set up under the CMA's interim road fuel open data scheme. The CMA asked that daily price updates be "available for free" and "available without any restrictions" (CMA, How your business can join the road fuel data scheme), and said the scheme means "other businesses can use the data and add it to existing and new applications and websites" (CMA, How we're making it easier for you to get road fuel prices). The CMA also notes that it "does not validate the data" and that drivers should always check the price shown at the forecourt (CMA, Access fuel price data).
The interim scheme closed on 1 May 2026, when the statutory Fuel Finder scheme replaced it. We use only feeds that retailers still publish at the same addresses and that are current. We do not use Moto's feed, because the CMA removed Moto from the scheme on 8 April 2026. Checked on 24 September 2026.

Fuel Finder
Under the Motor Fuel Price (Open Data) Regulations 2025, fuel retailers must report price changes to Fuel Finder within 30 minutes. We receive its data as a registered information recipient under the Open Government Licence v3.0 and the Fuel Finder fair use policy: we check it at least every 5 minutes, show every open forecourt's prices without favouring any retailer, and keep its timestamps unchanged. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
If a Fuel Finder price or forecourt detail is wrong, report a discrepancy to Fuel Finder, which passes it to the forecourt. You can also tell us.
How this site was made
The code and the fixed text on these pages were written with AI assistance (Anthropic's Claude) under Rai's direction. No price, average or station detail is written by hand or by AI: every number is computed by the site from the feeds at the time you load the page. The data and the pages are checked against the sources listed above.
Corrections
